In a far-distant future, humans no longer inhabit Earth. The cause of their disappearance (or perhaps their demise) is unknown, but their absence left a void ready to be filled by another sentient species. Over the span of untold generations, one species of the humble honeybee evolved to fill that void. They grew in size and intelligence to become a highly advanced society. They call themselves Mellifera, and they have made substantial technological advances in addition to the technology they adapted from human ruins, up to and including space travel. In Apiary , a 1-5 player competitive game designed by Connie Vogelmann and illustrated by Kwanchai Moriya, each player controls 1 of 20 unique factions. Your faction starts the game with a hive, a few resources, and worker bees. A worker-placement, hivebuilding challenge awaits you: explore planets, gather resources, develop technologies, and create carvings to demonstrate your faction’s strengths (measured in victory points) over one year’s Flow. Ever since we opened our company to submissions from other designers, we’ve had one core philosophy: Because of the amount time, money, heart, and soul we put into our games, we’ll only publish games from other designers if we love them as much as if we designed them ourselves. This is one such game. The game is called Between Two Cites , designed by Ben Rosset and Matthew O’Malley. It is a partnership-driven, tile-drafting city-building game for 3-7 players that plays in about 20 minutes. The game also includes a 2-player variant, and Morten Monrad Pedersen designed the solo “Automa” variant. In Between Two Cities, you are a world-renowned city planner who has been asked to redesign two different cities. Projects of such significance require the expertise of more than one person, so for each assignment you are paired with a partner with whom to discuss and execute your grandiose plans. Each turn features a simultaneous discussion with your two partners to decide which of your tiles to place into the cities you’re building with each of them and where in those cities to place the tiles. At the end of the game, there is only one winner, as each player compares the lowest scoring of their two cites. There are 7 reference cards in the game, 23 Automa cards, and 15 seating randomizer cards (a total of 45 cards). All cards are 57x87mm.

Between Two Cities is a 30-minute tile-drafting game for 1-7 players in which each tile is part of a city. You work with the player on your left to build one city center while simultaneously working with the player on your right to build a second city center. On each turn you select two tiles from your hand, reveal them, then work with your partners to place one of your selected tiles into each of your two cities. At the end of the game, each city is scored for its architectural grandiosity. Your final score is the lower of the scores of the two cities you helped design, and the player with the highest final score wins the game. To win, you have to share your attention and your devotion equally Between Two Cities. The Essential Edition combines components from the original game and the Capitals expansion into one cohesive whole. While it features a bigger box than the original game, different art on some tiles, and a scorepad instead of a board, there are no new gameplay elements (i.e., if you own Between Two Cities and the Capitals Expansion, you already have everything).

The sequel to Scythe sends players on a new adventure into Siberia, where a massive meteorite crashed near the Tunguska River, awakening ancient corruption. An expedition led by Dr. Tarkovsky ventures into the taiga to learn about the meteorite and its impact on the land. Itching for adventure, heroes from the war privately fund their own expeditions to Siberia, hoping to find artifacts, overcome challenges, and ultimately achieve glory. Expeditions is a competitive, card-driven, engine-building game of exploration. It is designed to evoke similar feelings to Scythe even though the mechanisms are different: Play cards to gain power, guile, and unique worker abilities; move your mech to mysterious locations and gain cards found among the tiles; use workers, items, meteorites, and quests to enhance your mech; and use power and guile to vanquish corruption.

Following a series of expeditions — some successful, others not — into the frigid Siberian tundra, corruption has spread from animals and people to a much larger threat. New heroes, better prepared than their predecessors, gather to face the prospect of a mechanical monster, but the changing landscape brings greater uncertainty as they explore Tunguska with fresh eyes. The Gears of Corruption expansion to Expeditions adds elements of risk and danger in the form of secret bonuses on map tokens and a corrupted mech that roams the land. To counter these threats, the expansion offers 2 new mechs and 4 new character/companion pairs, as well as components for a 6th player. Gears of Corruption also accelerates early gameplay by giving players starting resources and a hero worker that can act as any type of worker.

These 40 wooden young tokens, 20 wooden school tokens, and 50 squishy egg tokens (TPR plastic) were designed specifically for Finspan (the game includes cardboard tokens). One upgrade pack covers the quantities needed for a full 5-player game.* The tokens fit in the center well of the tray that comes in Finspan. *UPDATE: In some 5-player games when all players pursue schools, it is possible to run out of deluxe school tokens. We recommend keeping cardboard schools as a backup for this situation. We are in the process of making stand-alone packs of deluxe school tokens for those who want extras.

In Pendulum, each player is a powerful, unique noble vying to succeed the Timeless King as the true ruler of Dnya. Players command their workers, execute stratagems, and expand the provinces in their domain in real time to gain resources and move up the 4 victory tracks: power, prestige, popularity, and legendary achievement. Players must use actual time as a resource in managing their strategy to best their opponents, using time on different action types and balancing it with time spent planning and analyzing. Each turn, one player rolls 2 dice, and all players use the dice results on their realm cards to generate resources and earn stars. Rolling Realms plays with 1-6 players out of the box, but you can combine multiple copies to play with any number of players. Empires have risen and fallen in the aftermath of the Great War, and Europa stands on the precipice of a new era. The economy is robust, morale is high, and defenses are strong. There are reports from the countryside of strange soldiers with glowing eyes, but they seem distant and harmless. The Rise of Fenris, the conclusion to the Scythe expansion trilogy, enables two different options for any player count (Campaign and Modular), and comes complete with a detailed episodic guidebook, 13 plastic miniatures, 62 wooden tokens, two custom dice, f tiles, and over 100 cardboard tokens.

Scythe: The Wind Gambit contains two modular expansions: airships and resolutions . In the airship module , 2 airship tiles are randomly paired at the beginning of the game (1 passive and 2 aggressive; there are 16 total tiles). Each player’s airship miniature (a new type of unit; 1 big miniature for each of the 7 factions [the sculpts are identical, and the bases are different colors to match the factions]) has those abilities, as well as the core ability that airships are free to move onto any territory (land or water) and across rivers. Each player starts with their airship on their home base, so they can start moving out of their home area right away. The airship miniatures measure 101x33x41mm, and they have clear, plastic, removable stands/bases. In the resolution module , resolution tiles add a twist to the way each game ends. There are 8 of them, and 1 will be used each game. They often have an impact in the decisions you’ll make throughout the game.

Smitten is a cooperative micro-game for 1-2 players designed and published in celebration of Stonemaier Games' 10th anniversary. In Smitten, players work cooperatively with limited information/communication to complete two identical 3x3 grids of cards, each inspired by a Stonemaier game and illustrated by Vincent Dutrait. There are multiple difficulty levels and separate modes for solo and 2-player games. Smitten was inspired by comic book cards from Jamey's youth, specifically a set where various cards formed a cohesive 9-card panorama image. In trying to complete two of these images in Smitten, there is no set turn order; rather, players indicate a preference to play or not play a card. The played card has instructions for the other player to place a card, which they must do or the game instantly ends.

Viticulture Essential Edition is a competitive worker-placement game set in the foothills of Tuscany. It plays 1-6 players in 45-90 minutes, and it features 86 custom wooden tokens and 232 beautifully illustrated cards. You find yourself in rustic, pre-modern Tuscany, where you’ve inherited a meager vineyard. You own a few plots of land, an old crush pad, a tiny cellar, 3 workers…and the dream of owning the best winery in Italy. Your job is to allocate your workers and helpful visitors to complete various tasks throughout the year. Each season is different on a vineyard, so the workers have different tasks they can take care of in the summer and winter. There’s competition over those tasks, and often the first worker to arrive at each one has an advantage over the rest. Using those workers and visitors, you can expand your vineyard by building structures, planting vines, and filling wine orders as you work towards the goal of owning the most successful winery in Tuscany.

In this third expansion to Wingspan , we welcome new species to our habitats by exploring the vibrant, intriguing, and magnificent birds of Asia. A new Flock mode is included to expand the base game of Wingspan up to 6 or 7 players. Wingspan Asia is also a stand-alone game for 1 player (solo mode) or 2 players (Duet mode).

Over 300 Wingspan fans submitted illustrations of their favorite birds in the game for the Wingspan Fan Art Challenge, and we selected 255 illustrations in a variety of styles. The end result is a large pack of bird cards–mechanically identical to their counterparts in Wingspan and the Europe, Oceania, and Asia expansions–to add a special burst of flavor to tabletops worldwide. We donated $25,000 ($1 per Wingspan fan art pack produced) to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, the American Bird Conservancy, The Humane League, Maui Forest Bird Recovery Project, or the John Hopkins University Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing. In this first expansion to Wingspan, we increase the scope of the world to include the regal, beautiful, and varied birds of Europe.
