Cadwallon: City of Thieves - The Duke of Cadwallon
The aged noble sat counting by dim candlelight, and with each *clink* of another ducat on the pile, he faintly and unconsciously giggled. Despite the famine, tax season had been kind. A sudden chill gripped the frail old man; had he not closed the window of his solar? But before he could turn toward the source of the breeze, he felt the cold steel of a dagger on his throat and the hot breath of a thief on his ear. “Shout and you’re a dead man” whispered the faceless intruder. “I’ll just help myself to this...” and in an instant, both gold and interloper were gone. The Duke rose, red-faced, calling for the serving girl to fetch his sword and armor. This time, they would feel his wrath.
The Duke of Cadwallon comes with five character cards for five different language options: English, French, Italian, Spanish, and German. Substitute him for one of the included militiamen in your next game of Cadwallon: City of Thieves, and watch him strike fear into the hearts of every ne’er-do-well in the city. When the Duke wins a fight against a thief, his victim (after fleeing) takes the Duke token. This token represents the “threat of the Duke,” and whoever holds it is unable to open chests! The threat token can only be lost if the Duke wins a fight against a different thief... so everyone will want to control (and avoid) this powerful effect.
This is not a stand-alone game. A copy of Cadwallon: City of Thieves is required to play.
